Garden Diaries … May 2026
This week I photographed the garden. This is something that I intentionally do every growing season and every month in that growing season which for us is May-September, sometimes into October. I have found this process of documenting the work we have put into this garden and how it has changed and matured very enjoyable. I also love practicing garden…

Is Money the Main Goal?
I’ve been thinking a lot about where I am at in my photography career and where to go from here. Photography and the business of photography have been part of my life for 30 years. It’s been quite a journey. I’ve seen a lot of growth in my own skills and knowledge along with seeing the industry change drastically. I’ve…

This Week’s Edit
As much as I wish I could take new photos every single day and have new images to share all the time, that just isn’t real life for me. The camera has sat on the kitchen island more than being in my hands this month and the goal of updating the print shop hasn’t gone as planned. Instead, in the…

I went looking for frames today and was a little surprised by the cost of 18×24 frames at big box stores but ended up finding something that my customer…

Garden Rose Bouquet
Currently flowers seem to be in abundance in my life and it is reminding me of a time when I was somewhat newly married and wasn’t a mom yet. I worked part time at a professional photo lab and the other days I tended to house tasks with weekends saved for portrait sessions and weddings. I would bring home flowers…

First Floral Bouquet Shoot of 2026
2026 is off to a very good start! Apparently I haven’t photographed a bouquet of flowers in the studio since 2023 (I’ve done many single stems) and I’ve already done 2 different bouquets with one waiting. The nearby Trader Joe’s floral department is definitely helping this cause. My husband has quickly figured out that we can not go there and…
