As I come out of the fog of a crazy humid, hot and busy market weekend, all I can think about is how thankful I am for being able to be part of this for 10 years. It started small, hosted on a farm and no one had any experience, to now being held in a city venue with over 100 vendors and thousands of people attending over 2 days. It’ve not only seen this business grow leaps and bounds but also have seen myself grow in my abilities.
Through photography, logo, branding, websites, graphics made into all kinds of merchandise, and many backend administrator tasks I’ve seen my abilities evolve into something that I’m incredibly proud of. It has been an experience of a lifetime and I’m so grateful to have been asked to be part of it.
The last few years we’ve morphed into a ‘summer camp’ theme and this year I feel that theme really came through the way Tonia wanted it to. The merch bus parked out front like it’s dropping campers off, to the VW bus lounge area with chairs and games and to me photographing with a polaroid camera and people stunned I could even do that. It had such a retro vibe to it that everyone embraced.
This market though is all about small businesses and connecting them to the community. There truly was a little bit of everything from antique finds, pottery, clothing, honey, candles, soaps, jewelry, and even tattoos. The food and drink selections were amazing, too. The ice lemonade saved me from the brutal humidity and heat!
Congratulation to this team below! Every single person brought their best to making this 10th market a great one. We each serve with a smile on our face and a determination to do whatever we can to bring a vision to life for everyone who attends. We get scrappy when needed, help each other out, and celebrate the wins while figuring out how to handle the challenges. Well done team!
