These just might be some of my favorite images from Castlewood Canyon. We go out there several times a year and I have a lot of photos from our hikes there but this day just felt good as a photographer. I was noticing views I hadn’t paid attention to before and the light was hitting just right.
I have been especially loving photographing paths lately. It resonates right now as I have been pondering my own path in life and where I would like go from here. My photography journey has had many stages from portraits to weddings plus commercial alongside landscape and floral. Over the last couple of years I’ve wondered if I should continue to claim a photography business, with many thoughts of letting it go. As I have processed through what’s really important to me and why I even do photography, I currently feel that I am on the right path. It may not look how I wanted it to but I know that focusing on slowing down and being present enough to notice how beautiful it is around me is my purpose in this art right now. You may just see trees below but I see a meticulously created masterpiece. The way the trees manage to grow out of the rocks, how to light comes through the trees and illuminates the paths, and how the goldenrod glows bright yellow in the sunlight. My hope is that by sharing what I see with you, that it inspires you to see it to.
