Spontaneous Creativity. That is what I am focused on this year. Getting back to recognizing the moments my heart starts to pitter patter a little faster because I notice something. The little cucumber tendrils trying to grab onto the jalapeño and how the sun rays are making it glow. The texture and deep green color of the fern I potted on the deck. The deer that come through the neighborhood and pose so beautifully with the most gorgeous backlight showing off his velvety antlers. The morning light coming onto the deck while I tend to the geraniums.
These are not grand moments nor are they award winners in a photography contest, but they are moments I want to let myself fully sink into. Allowing myself to stop what I’m doing and grab my camera, that is waiting patiently on the kitchen island, to capture the feeling of my ordinary day.

Those of you in the US, I hope you have a wonderful and safe 4th of July with the people you care most for. In our area we are just hoping everyone is responsible and no major fires are started. We still are planning on celebrating the best that we can!
Thank you to each of you that finds this article and spends a little time here. I appreciate it more than I could ever express in black text.
