Being gifted a monthly flower subscription meant a project had to happen! In the previous post I shared the six images that came out of The Deconstruction Project where I took apart the bouquets and created a flat lay that represented that bouquet. Today I’m sharing three of those bouquets as I had received them.
I did not photograph every bouquet I received, I think there were 8 total, mostly because photographing bouquets wasn’t exactly what I was interested in. I typically focus in on a single bloom, examining what is making it stand out and it’s unique details. There were two bouquets though that I had to photograph as is and then the very last bouquet I received I photographed as the ending of the project.

The above was the June bouquet. It was filled with color and felt so cheerful for the beginning of summer. Did you know that tulips continue to grow even after cut? As this bouquet aged the tulips were reaching out from the rest of the flowers and I loved how I could focus in on the tulip but the entire bouquet could still be seen in the background. Love the distant perspective it has! I also loved the form of this bouquet from the top creating a corner vignette filled with color. It was a happy set of flowers!

The August bouquet was an absolute stunner! The vessel they used and somewhat wild form of it really caught my eye. I also loved how the yellow tulips grabbed your attention. This was my favorite bouquet of all of them and I spent days photographing it. My favorite image is with the sunlight coming in through the blinds in my studio. That light added texture and gave the image a bit of movement if you will. I love it!

The last bouquet was in November. These were the only photographs that I took of it. I never did any single stem photos or included it in the deconstruction project. This is when I knew that I was done. I look at this bouquet today and see so much potential that I wish I would of photographed. That hydrangea and sunflower could of been amazing. There were some great textures in this collection of stems. Oh well. It now marks the end of that project and the subscription. I’m forever thankful to have been gifted the opportunity to create consistently.
You can find the August Bouquet in The Shop now and the June Bouquet will be coming shortly.
