My work starts out very selfishly.
When I am photographing flowers and going through the motions of discovering the most beautiful form, color, angle, and light I can’t help but think about how selfish my work is. I see beauty in these simple blooms and as I study them the inspiration and excitement builds. I’m photographing a flower because I’m excited about it and I want to capture the uniqueness I have found. I’m not looking at them as a way to solve a problem or provide a solution, I simply find joy in finding the unnoticed beauty and enhancing that through photographs and in that excitement I can’t help but want to share.
My hope is for you to see the beauty that I have discovered and share in that joy with me.
To appreciate a different view of something that you are very familiar with.
My fine art work may not provide you with a solution to a problem but my hope is that it does provide you with a new appreciative perspective. To see a photograph that has captured something beautiful in a way that you may not have noticed before and to be able to sit and study that beauty and appreciate it.
