A year ago Tonia and I were planning her Grand Opening of her first store front and then everything came to a stop. We rescheduled her Grand Opening a month later and did what we could to keep things moving forward with a lot of limits. We opened up her online shop and kept hoping that after all the work her family had done and her and I had done that she could open her store.
Her opening was a couple of months later in May (which I couldn’t make it to because we were right in the middle of my husband starting his new job and having to be in Denver for that) but it was always suppose to be open at the beginning of Spring. So when she told me she wanted to do her 1 Year Anniversary in March I was all for it because that was when it was suppose to be and it has that Spring spirit of new beginnings.
I’m so happy for Tonia for all that she has persevered through and the success of her beautiful shop in Bayard. She has created a place where not only the locals can go to shop at but also for the surrounding areas to come to and experience. When we go to Nebraska we first see my parents and then we head to Mercantile Co.
Tonia has graciously brought me along this journey by utilizing what I can offer in logo’s, graphic design, web design, and photography to show to the world her brand and style. It’s an effortless collaboration with her that can bring me to tears. When you just get along with someone and your visions mesh together it really does create a beautiful business relationship and friendship.
So here’s to Tonia and her gorgeous shop, Mercantile Co.! I always tell her we’re going BIG and I plan to keep moving forward until her ultimate dream is a reality.
