After 11 years I finally made my way back to the Denver Botanic Gardens on York St. As soon as you walk into the grounds it’s a feast for the eyes. There is so much to take in and absorb yet it’s so peaceful and calming to walk around. We were racing storms so we decided to go around the outer edge of the grounds to see the things we were most interested in plus by the time we would get to the conservatory the rain would be arriving. We loved the Romantic Gardens, Lilac Garden, Solarium, Rock Alpine Garden, Japanese Garden, Monet Pool, and the Tropical Conservatory.
As a photographer who loves flowers as my subject, there is no shortage of amazing flowers to see. My type of photography though (up close and isolated) proved to be difficult here as you can not go off the provided paths as it should be. So I changed my focus to finding the beautiful garden vignettes and pockets of color all while practicing patience as I wait for people to move out of my composition.
I’m very excited to share with you the top 22 images that I captured during our morning at the gardens. I would love to hear what your favorite image is so please leave a comment below.
