This gorgeous Acropolis Daffodil from Colorblends was one of the first things to start blooming in the garden. It was a gorgeous display of bright white blooms when everything else was still just trying to come out a dormancy. Ooh and the scent … the website says it’s a ’spicy scent’ but I thought it was more sweet smelling. I was completely taken by the fullness of the blooms with so many gorgeous petals and then a little splash of color from the center. I’ve never been a big fan of the traditional daffodil bloom with the trumpet center but I really love this double bloom style.
My photography style most of the time is; clean, minimal, classic. Those three words are exactly how I approached photographing this daffodil. I like to take a single stem and study it from many angels, different lighting, and different edits. From afar a group of the same flower can look the same but when you start studying each individual bloom you find they are all unique. Petals might be a little different along with the shade of color. Stems don’t grow exactly the same. I can spend hours, sometimes days, photographing one single flower as I keep discovering all its beauty.
I hope you enjoy discovering the beauty of this daffodil through these images!
