Garden Potting Table

Potting table on covered deck with loads of terracotta pots and metal garden decor

My next project with terracotta is transforming our outdoor dining table into a garden potting table. We never sit outside to eat. We love to sit on the deck but all three of us gravitate to the chairs that look out on the garden instead of the table and chairs. So instead of it just sitting there unused, I decided to move some things around and create a potting table instead.

The table was already centered in the area so I started by leaving it there and created stacks of pots and found some galvanized items as well as garden tools. I had just recently pruned my chive plant of all its spent blooms and harvested the seeds so I had this cute bundle of chive blooms to style with. I really liked having the table in the middle but I also wanted to see what it looked like under the window. So the next day I moved it. I think both work very well it will just depend on my mood or more importantly how I end up using it. I haven’t had a chance to pot anything on the table yet but I have several houseplants that need to be repotted so I’ll be trying it out very soon.

It’s nice to change up a space and make it feel fresh and new to inspire different ways to use it. We weren’t using the table to eat at so why not give it a new purpose or function. I hope this inspires you to look at what you already have and maybe use it in a different way, too.
