Roxborough State Park Colorado

Roxborough State Park Trail in Colorado

Roxborough State Park is a place we visit around once pr year simply because it can be a busy area. With that said though it is a really beautiful trail with amazing red rocks reaching for the sky and in the spring there are wildflowers blooming. Just wish the oak brush would be leafed out sooner, they always take so long.

I’m a big proponent of photographing places many times. I almost never get the same exact image. The weather, light, seasons and even the simplest changes can make a scene feel completely different. The way I’m feeling that day or what is catching my eye can change how I photograph a place I’ve been to before. It can also produce a series of images of the subject but in different seasons. I personally think it’s a great exercise to either see how your focus changes or how a subject changes by repeatedly photographing it. Below is what photographed on an early Spring May day. See how I photographed the same location 2 years ago but on a hot summer day in July.
