There is nothing better than spending the day at the Denver Botanic Gardens walking around with the people I love. We always have such a wonderful time when we go! This year we decided we wanted to try to go more often so we ended up getting a season membership. I’m kind of excited about this because now we can go as many times as we want plus we can go to both locations, York St. and Chatfield.
With it being mid May, it seemed to be transitioning from early spring blooms to late spring blooms. The lilacs were in bloom, the peonies & iris were just starting, we caught the tail end of the tulips and daffodils, but flowering trees were pretty much done. It would be interesting to visit every month maybe starting in mid April to try to catch each transition.
I’m typically drawn more to the structure of things when I’m at the York St. gardens. Hardscape in relation to the soft and flowy plantings. Pot placement and walking paths. Arches and curves. The same space with a few changes, different weather, and a different attitude I am in changes how I see things and what I’m drawn to. This always fascinates me. You can take a look at last years visit to the Botanic Gardens to see what I captured.
We had a wonderful day and I hope you enjoy these favorite images!
