This is the very first time that I have grown peonies in my garden. It took a lot of work in the spring to keep the buds from freezing as we get some late May snow storms and cold spells. Living at 6400 ft elevation definitely has its gardening challenges. All that work was well worth it to enjoy these gorgeous blooms.
I waited until the very last moment to cut these blooms and photograph them, mostly because it’s just hard to cut. They are completely opened and starting to get a little tired, some of the petals were starting to fall off the back but I didn’t care. I loved how soft and full they were together and styled them the best I could. Floating them in water was one way to keep them together and my favorite image is the right bottom below where they fill the frame.
My favorite image is available to order prints from in the Print Shop. If you like any of the others, please contact me.
