When there is months of work and planning that takes place and you are just about spent when market week arrives but then you get to the market bright and early and are reminded why you feel so passionate about supporting this event with the gifts that you have. There truly is nothing like it that I have experienced and I think that it’s because of the heartfelt passion that goes into it. Tonia puts so much time and energy putting these markets on. It’s personal to her in a way no one will ever understand. I’m lucky enough to be able to stand beside her and support her dream for making it an enjoyable experience for all who come. My job has been to provide the visuals from photos, graphics, flyers, tshirt and tote designs, website, social media, newspaper & magazine ads, down to even stickers for each market. When one market is about to take place, we are already on to the next market with these things. It takes heart and passion to want to start that cycle over again.
The thing driving Tonia the most are all those small businesses that are part of the markets. She wants them to succeed and put them in front of more people by providing a space to make that happen. She also loves bringing the community together where people can meet and have an amazing time. This is one of my favorite things for I get to see so many people I only see twice a year at the markets and can reconnect. The smiles, laughter, and joy fills the air on market day.
Yes, I’m obsessed to say the least. My heart and passion go into these markets because I believe in the purpose of them. I want it to succeed for the vendors, the town of Bayard, and for Tonia.
Here’s a look into the Spring Market from my point of view.
