My All Time Favorite Sugar Cookies

2/3 c shortening

11 tbsp. butter

1 1/2 c white sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla extract

3 1/2 c all-purpose flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

1/3 c granulated sugar

Preheat oven to 350. Cream together the butter, shortening, and sugar. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking power and salt … mix into the creamed mixture until dough comes together. Roll dough into walnut sized balls and roll the balls in sugar. Place them on an unprepared cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake cookies 10-12 min until bottom is light brown. Remove from baking sheet to cool on wire racks. All done!

Tips: bake on parchment paper for easy cleanup & bake for 10 min so they are really soft.
