We are having a very nice 4th of July and we hope that all of you are, too. We have done the all American thing today. Worked in the yard this morning. Had hot dogs and cheesecake for lunch. Went to the Air Tour. Had vanilla shakes. And now relaxing in front of the tv. What are you doing today?
This morning, bright and early, we were surprised by a loud B-17 that flew right over our house. My husband knew exactly what it was and instantly started finding out why it was in town. He loves and knows everything there is about WWII. I of course grabbed my camera and waited for him to tell me it was coming and sure enough it went right over the house again and I was ready to grab the shot! Cool right? I am standing on my deck looking straight up at it.

Then my husband spotted another plane flying west of us and knew it was a P-51 Mustang and that was it, we were off to the local airport to check things out. When we arrived the P-51 was flying and we were hoping to see it but it had landed right when we got there but we got to see it taxi in. You can pay to get a ride in these planes and we are thinking the gentleman in the back did just that. Online it says the price is $2200 for 30 minutes. Holy Cow!!! That is what I said.

The B-24

A little family portrait. Do you see us?

I really liked the propellers of the B-24.

These are the names of the many crew members who flew on the B-24.

They also had some classic cars around and I loved this one.

All images were shot with my 5DmII. There are some differences between the 40D and 5D that I am getting used to but over all the 5D is a great camera.
